MapPro Hardware
Requirements
General Requirements
As a general rule any new entry level PC currently
available would more than adequately fulfill all the requirements
for MapPro.
Processor/Memory
Requirements
MapPro requires a 1 GHz PC with 256 MB of RAM is recommended. MapPro will run with any 32 bit Windows
operating system - Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows
NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
CD-ROM/Hard Disk
Requirements
MapPro requires a minimum of 50
MB of available hard disk space and a CD-ROM Drive. The maps
contained on the CD are installed on the hard disk. The amount of disk space required
for the maps can vary greatly
depending upon the number and size of the licensed counties. 1 GB of disk space
may be required on some installations.
Internet Requirements
An internet connection is
required to perform product registration, software updates, and license updates from
the MapPro Server.
Printer Requirements
An ink jet or laser printer
capable of at least 300 dpi resolution. Many older printers may
not have sufficient memory to print the complex graphics
contained on the maps. Most 300 dpi black & white laser
printers require 2 MB of memory. Most 600 dpi black & white
laser printers or 300 dpi color ink jet printers require 4 MB of
memory.
Video/Monitor
Requirements
MapPro does not have any special
Video Controller or Monitor requirements and will work
satisfactorily on a 15 in. SVGA monitor at 256 colors, but because
the maps contain complex graphics, system performance and the
quality of the displayed maps are greatly enhanced with a 17 in.
or larger monitor and a video controller with 16 MB or more memory
with 64,000 colors at 1024/768 screen resolution.
